The stage is set in Polinyà de Xúquer, in the Valencian Community, to welcome young voices from around the world. Registrations are now open for the IX International Singing Competition “Martín y Soler”, to be held on April 17, 18 and 19, 2026, at the Auditorium of the Ausiàs March Cultural Center.

Dedicated to discovering and promoting new talents in lyrical singing, the competition pays tribute to the Valencian composer Vicente Martín y Soler (1754–1806), one of the great figures of 18th-century opera. Over the years, the competition has established itself as a space of artistic excellence, professional encounter, and genuine career development for young singers.

Organized by TEMPUS, in collaboration with the Town Council of Polinyà de Xúquer, the competition features a jury composed of agents, programmers, professors, and artistic directors with recognized international careers in the lyrical field. Beyond the monetary prizes, participants gain visibility, guidance, and concrete opportunities for professional advancement.

The registration fee is €35 until March 16 and €50 from March 17 onward.The competition will take place in two rounds — preliminary and final— and candidates must prepare:

  • Four concert songs
  • Four arias from opera, zarzuela, oratorio, or similar repertoire

Each participant must attend with their own pianist.As an added value, registered participants may take part free of charge in the 5th International Conference for Lyrical Singing Professionals, which will be held on April 20 and 21, expanding the artistic experience through training sessions, exchange, and direct contact with industry professionals.

Main Prizes

  • First Absolute Prize: €3,500 + recital in the 2026/2027 season
  • Second Prize: €2,000 + recital in the 2026/2027 season
  • Third Prize: €750

Special prizes will also be awarded, including the “Claudia Montero” Prize and the “Harmonia del Parnàs” Prize.

In its ninth edition, the International Singing Competition “Martín y Soler” reaffirms its mission: to reveal voices, build bridges, and strengthen the future of international lyric art.

The stage awaits its next protagonists.
